Lacie’s Fantasy Art
by B. Payne on May.27, 2010, under Student Art
Hey this is Lacie. Mr. Payne is letting his art students take over the blog. Have you ever heard about Fantasy Art? Fantasy Art is similar to Surreal art. My favorite Fantasy artist is Lacy Nicole Knudson. She has some cool art that I’ve posted with this. The meaning of Fantasy to me is like dreaming, using your imagination, and just keeping your mind wide open for all possibilities that may come to mind. I would really like to know what you think (fantasy) means to you and what you think about the pictures.

Skateboarding Art by Joe

This art obviously has a lot of different, bright colors. That makes it very attractive. It’s consistency of different colors make it overwhelming and eye catching. It seems to show different characters who look small and fuzzy, submitting words like “yes!”, and so on. I found this picture at http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ffee.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/deck_post_cup.jpg&imgrefurl=http://ffee.wordpress.com/2009/06/23/cup-of-great-coffee/&usg=__ToXR3j9daH2ibEbclklZFK6iQSE=&h=655&w=500&sz=153&hl=en&start=17&itbs=1&tbnid=4qiv4vMxGZym5M:&tbnh=138&tbnw=105&prev=/images%3Fq%3DSkateboarding%2BArt%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1

Surreal is one of my favorite paintings in art. If you haven’t, there is a picture below by Refel Obinski. To me it means something not real or someone expressing there feelings. What does Surreal art mean to you?
There is a picture below that is also a painting from Refel Obinski. To me this painting means anger and being upset with someone or something. What does this picture mean to you?

Japanese Cartoon Art
by B. Payne on May.25, 2010, under Student Art
Hey guys! Its Brittlyn.. This is one of my favorite kinds of art. This is called Western Japanese cartoon art. The meaning of this very clever painting is to express best friends, joy, and love all together.
Body Proportions emulated in anime come from proportions of the human body. The height of the head is considered as the base unit of proportion. Head heights can vary as long as the remainder of the body remains proportional. Most anime characters are about seven to eight heads tall, and extreme heights are set around nine heads tall.
Well I hope yall liked my blog. I’m one of Mr. Payne’s students and I’m getting graded on how many comments I get so I need you guys to comment please!!!!

Printmaking – MonoPrints
by B. Payne on May.13, 2010, under Art 1, Student Art
7th graders just finished creating some monoprints. They rolled the ink out on their desk after they had made a border with masking tape, then drew into the ink. After they were finished they took the tape off to provide nice clean edges. pressed paper down on the ink and lifted the print onto paper. It’s fun and easy. Some looked pretty cool. Here are a couple of photos of the process. Try it at home.
